in 2011 i lived by my favourite words, said to me by a german man on a bus in fiji, which are ‘have fun everywhere’. i tried to live fearlessly and enjoy every minute. take the bad ones as a learning experience and tuck the good ones away to revisit over and over.

it’s different this time.
he called me pretty and tucked my hair behind my ear; i almost cried. there’s been a lot of beauty around these days and i have tears in my eyes a lot.
scared shitless.
leave in a few days to my new job: sous-chef at a high end, low-capacity heli ski resort. it’s nice that people believe that i can do it but i don’t think anyone fully grasps the situation i’ve put myself in.
